Chinese landscape painting, known as Shan Shui (literally “mountain and water”), has been refined over more than a thousand years. This art form emphasizes the natural world, often imbued with symbolic meaning, and is brought to life through expressive brushwork and flowing ink.

Winter landscapes are one of the most poetic themes in Chinese brush painting, drawing on a thousand-year artistic tradition. Using soft brushes, ink, and mineral colours, you will learn how to create atmospheric snowy scenes in the style of the Chinese old masters.
